The Nordschleife experience:
open NordschleifeThe fascinating Green Hell. Speed and fun on the Nordschleife. Experience the prettiest and longest as well as the most challenging and utilised racetrack in the world on your own four or two wheels.
Visit the Nordschleife at the Nürburgring. Completed in 1927 this circuit, which is unequalled the world-over, has inspired people time and again.
Motorsporting legends such as Rudolf Caracciola, Manfred von Brauchitsch, Hermann Lang, Juan Manuel Fangio or Graf Berghe von Trips have written history here with their fearless driving. Jackie Stewart respectfully christened the series of curves that run through the impressive landscape of the Eifel "The Green Hell". The circuit has been the cause of great fascination to this day.
Driving the Nürburgring in your own car or motorbike is a unique challenge. Mastering the 20.8 km long Nordschleife is an ongoing process of reappraising your driving skill when subjected to demanding circumstances.
The Nordschleife is different to a modern racetrack. With its blind or unexpected curves and spiteful hillocks, severe upward and downward slopes as well as a frequently changing track surface and, in consequence, friction, the Nordschleife is one of the most demanding challenges any motorsport fan will ever experience.
Simultaneously, it is referred to as "probably the most beautiful roadway in the world".
Its primary advantage is that there is no oncoming traffic to disturb the search for the ideal line. However, in the scope of the track-days there are other road users and in the interest of the safety of all participants, this makes it necessary to adhere to certain rules.
Nordschleife opening times can be obtained from the following schedule or the info-telephone on +49 (0) 2691 302-144 or (updated daily) +49 (0) 2691 302 - 630.
A six month entry ticket is available for purchase from 27 July 2007. This is valid from 27 July 2007 to 31 December 2007 and costs € 465.00 incl. VAT.
It is recommended that you save the Nordschleife access point emergency number in your mobile:

Other safety and service related investments
Nürburgring GmbH invests millions of euros in the ongoing development of the Nordschleife safety facilities
Nürburgring GmbH has invested over three million euros in the last five years alone for the purpose of continually increasing safety on the Nordschleife for private drivers, the industry and motorsport. In doing so, the information and safety infrastructure has, in particular, been improved. The circuit, which is around eight decades old, has long fulfilled far higher standards than, e.g. motorways; these comprise generous safety zones, guard rails, gravel traps, tyre walls and the continued on-site presence of safety and rescue services. This successful path will be continued over the next three years through further investments. Alongside the installation of continuous 3-layer guard rails and FIA catch fences, warning and information boards at the access point are also planned.
