29 - 31 August 2008:

World Series by Renault

Action on the racing track and the best family entertainment available off-track: On the first weekend in May the Renault World Series attracted around 110 000 spectators to the Nürburgring in brilliant sunshine – almost double the numbers who attended last year. Excitement on the track was supplied by the spectacular silhouette cars of the Renault Mégane Trophy, the emerging drivers of the Renault Formula 3.5 and the German New Renault Clio Cup.

As well as the racing, visitors could also enjoy the many interactive activities and attractions available. Whilst the younger members of the family had fun on the bouncy castles or with the face painting activities, the older members could play on the Formula One simulators and games consoles or try to beat the Renault Team’s time in pit stop competitions.

Another off-track highlight: the largest mobile Ferris wheel in Europe allowed visitors views which stretched for kilometres - from the Grand Prix circuit and paddock as far as the Nordschleife. The Renault show truck, situated below the Ferris wheel, set up an open air stage with musical acts such as the rock group from Cologne who sang their cult hit "Superjeile Zick".
